What is Texans for the Arts?

Texans for the Arts is a grass-roots 501c4 non-profit organization incorporated in Texas to advocate for the Arts by supporting the programs and services of the Texas Commission on the Arts. Texans for the Arts represents individual and organizational members statewide. Contributions are not deductible unless deemed a business expense. In addition, the Texans for the Arts Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization focuses on providing professional development and advocacy education for both arts administrators and committed arts’ supporters.

The Mission of Texans for the Arts:
To advance the development of arts, culture and the creative industries in the State of Texas through a forum for public policy and planning. To promote a program of coordinated information and advocacy in a unified effort to protect the arts portion of the Hotel Occupancy tax and to increase public funding for the arts at the federal, state and local levels.

Goals:
Texans for the Arts seeks to achieve its mission by:
Supporting legislation increasing funding for the arts;
Providing statewide dialogue and education regarding arts public policy and planning;
Providing advocacy coordination services to a statewide base of membership;
