Plan now to attend the third biennial Texans for the Arts – Arts Advocacy Day in Austin. The day will feature a breakfast rally, advocacy training and Capitol visits to your elected officials. Contact your representatives’ staffers and schedule your visits that day between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM. TFA will once again provide “Talking Points” and other helpful information to help you with legislative visits.

TCA State of the Arts Conference:
Strategies for Success

Arts organizations, artists, arts administrators and board members are encouraged to mark their calendars for the State of the Arts Conference: Strategies for Success to be held in Austin January 31-February 1, 2013.
Hosted by a partnership of the Texas Commission on the Arts, the Texas Cultural Trust and the Texans for the Arts Foundation, the conference will feature information of importance to the arts industry in Texas. Topics range from gaining financial stability to building new audiences, using social media to effective marketing, arts education to ADA compliance.
One of the highlights of the conference will be developing an effective strategy for marketing your organization to funders, donors and new audiences. State of the Arts Conference: Strategies for Success will bring together experts in the areas of foundation funding, social media marketing, and crowd-sourcing to answer questions and provide insight.
